PART TIME COMPETITIVE PROGRAM

House of Dance has a great Part-Time Competitive program that provides dancers with a fun and challenging experience while teaching them proper dance technique in various styles. The competition program is a great way for your child to be involved in a team setting. We work hard with each dancer to achieve their personal best and to reach their goals.

What age groups do we have?

We start our competitive program from the age of 5 to 18.

What kind of experience does my child need?

Your child does not need to be experienced in dance as we offer various levels. What we look at is if your child has the focus, basic tools, co-ordination and work ethic to join the competitive program.

What is the commitment like?

In our part-time competitive program, dancers train 4.5 hours a week (2 days a week) in ballet, jazz, contemporary, Acro or Hip-Hop. They compete in two group dances and attend three competitions (driving-distance) in the spring. They also get to perform in two shows at a theatre at the end of March and beginning of June.

What will my child gain from this experience?

Your child will learn what it’s like to be a part of a team and gain long lasting friendships in a supportive and friendly environment. Dance is a great form of physical activity and instills great focus within your child. Working towards competitions will give your child a purpose to push themselves to be their best and there is no better feeling then dancing on stage with the lights, cameras and audience!

How do we join the team?

We set up a private assessment with your child to assess their flexibility, co-ordination and ability to take direction. The assessment is very relaxed and stress free, we like to make your child feel comfortable. If we feel like the competitive program is a great fit for your child, we then send you the package which includes the fees and competition info.
