Raeburn Furguson

 
 

Raeburn is a graduate of York University, where she studied Devised Theatre and specialized in Directing. She has worked extensively in both community and professional theatres across Ontario, nurturing her passion for creation, live performance, and arts education.

Her experience includes key positions at some of the province's premier arts and culture centers. At the Living Arts Centre, she served as the Director and Choreographer of the P.L.A.Y Project and taught weekly ballet and contemporary dance classes. Additionally, she directed summer dance, drama, and music programs at the Harbourfront Centre and was the Managing Director of Kaeja d'Dance, where she produced professional dance productions and festivals.

Raeburn was also a member of the Toronto Rock "Junior Gems" dance team, performing at Scotiabank Arena for thousands of fans, and danced for the Brampton Excelsiors and Mississauga Eagles. She attended the Quite Ballet School Summer Intensive, where she further honed her skills.

Her love for theatre and musical theatre blossomed through her dance years. She performed for several years at the Lower Ossington Theatre in productions such as Legally Blonde and Jesus Christ Superstar, and choreographed Catch a Break, a musical that toured Ontario. Recently, she collaborated with a projection artist to create Halloween-themed dancing decorations showcased in theme parks.

Raeburn has choreographed and taught dancers of all ages, believing that anyone can dance. She thrives in the studio, sharing her passion for the performing arts.
