About Alison

Alison Russell MA, BA(Hons), LRAD, RAD RTS 

Alison grew up in Edmonton, Alberta, where her passion for ballet and teaching was sparked. Alison received her undergraduate education at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dance headquarters in London, England. She is a graduate of the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Ballet Education that was affiliated with the University of Surrey. Additionally, she received the Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Dance. Her experience while training at the RAD provided an in-depth study of the RAD’s syllabi and pedagogical approaches. Alison returned to Edmonton and trained students in the RAD method. She has successfully entered many students in Graded and Vocational exams and choreographed for festivals, competitions, and year-end recitals. With a keen interest in safe dance practices and anatomy, Alison sought further training and became certified in mat Pilates and Progressing Ballet Technique. Most recently, Alison completed her Master’s degree in Dance at York University in Toronto, Ontario. This program further developed her interests in dance history and research. Alison combines her passion with her experience and training to support students with their dance ambitions.
